XL9910

XL9910 is an open-loop, current-mode control LED driver IC. The IC can be programmed to operate in either constant-frequency or constant-off-time mode. It integrates an 8.0 - 450V linear regulator, enabling operation over a wide input voltage range without requiring an external low-voltage power supply. The XL9910 includes a PWM dimming input that accepts external control signals with duty cycles from 0 - 100% and frequencies up to several kilohertz. It also features a 0 - 250mV linear dimming input for linear adjustment of LED current. The XL9910 is ideally suited for buck LED drivers. Since the XL9910 operates under open-loop current-mode control, the controller achieves excellent output current regulation without any loop compensation. PWM dimming response is limited only by the inductor current rise and fall rates, enabling very fast rise and fall times. Beyond the power stage, the XL9910 requires only three external components to generate a controlled LED current, making it an ideal solution for low-cost LED drivers.
