Overview
The AMS1117 series is a low-dropout linear regulator with a dropout voltage of 1.3V at 800mA load current. Its standby current is only 2mA, outperforming competitors at 5mA. In addition to fixed output voltage versions (1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.3V, and 5V), an adjustable version is also available, providing output voltages from 1.25V to 12V with just two external resistors. The series features thermal shutdown to ensure stability of the IC and power system, and employs trimming technology to guarantee output voltage accuracy within 2%. Other accuracy grades (e.g., 1%) are available upon request. The AMS1117 series comes in a SOT-223 power package.
