Overview
The AMS1117 series is a family of low-dropout voltage regulators capable of supplying up to 1A of output current. The series offers six fixed output voltages: 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V, as well as an adjustable version. On-chip precision trimming adjusts the reference/output voltage to within ±2% accuracy. On-chip thermal limiting provides protection against excessive junction temperatures resulting from any combination of overload and ambient temperature conditions. The series is available in SOT-223, TO-252, and SOT89 packages. A minimum 10μF tantalum capacitor on the output is required to improve transient response and ensure stability.
