Overview
AMS1117 is a family of low dropout linear regulators with a 1.3V dropout voltage at 1A load current. Quiescent current is exceptionally low at only 2mA. The family offers fixed output voltage versions (1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.3V, and 5V) as well as an adjustable output version that requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage from 1.25V to 12V. AMS1117 incorporates thermal shutdown protection to ensure stability of both the device and the power supply system. Trimming technology guarantees output voltage accuracy within 2%, with other accuracy grades (e.g., 1%) available upon request. The family is offered in SOT-223, TO-252, and SOT-89 packages.
