Overview
The AMS1117S series is a family of low dropout regulators capable of delivering up to 1A of output current. The series offers six fixed output voltage options: 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V. An adjustable output voltage version is also available. On-chip precision trimming adjusts the reference/output voltage accuracy to within ±2%. On-chip thermal shutdown prevents excessive junction temperature caused by the combined effects of overload and high ambient temperature. The AMS1117S series is available in SOT-223, TO-252, and SOT89 packages. To improve transient response and stability, a minimum 10μF tantalum capacitor is required at the output.
