Overview
This device is a three-terminal adjustable shunt regulator whose output voltage can be set to any value between Vref (approximately 1.24V) and 18V using two external resistors. Its typical output impedance is 0.05Ω. The active output circuit provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making it an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in many applications. Such applications include on-board voltage regulation, adjustable power supplies, and power-on/power-off control.
