Overview

The CD4013A contains two independent data-type flip-flops, each with separate data input, set, reset, clock input, and outputs (Q, Q̄). The device can be used as a shift register, and by connecting the Q̄ output to the data input, it can also be configured as a counter or toggle flip-flop. On the rising edge of the clock pulse, the logic level at the data input is transferred to the Q output. The set and reset states are independent of the clock and are controlled by a high level on the set or reset pin, respectively. The device is available in SOP-14, TSSOP-14, DIP-14, QSOP-16, and QFN-16 packages.
