Overview

This device contains two identical but independent data-type flip-flops, each with separate data input, set, reset, clock input, and outputs Q and Q̄. It can be used as a shift register, or as a counter and toggle flip-flop by connecting the Q̄ output to the data input. On the rising edge of the clock pulse, the logic level at the data input is transferred to the Q output. The set and reset functions are independent of the clock state and are controlled by a high level on the set or reset pin, respectively.
