CJC8990

The CJC8990 is a low-power, high-quality stereo codec designed for portable digital audio applications. The device integrates a complete interface for connecting a stereo headphone or line output port. The need for external components is significantly reduced by eliminating the external headphone amplifier. Advanced on-chip DSP provides graphic equalizer, 3D sound enhancement, and automatic level control for microphone or line inputs. The CJC8990 can operate as a master or slave device, supporting multiple master clock frequencies including 12MHz or 24MHz for USB devices, or standard 256fs rates such as 12.288MHz and 24.576MHz. Various audio sample rates, such as 96KHz, 48KHz, and 44.1KHz, can be generated directly from the master clock without an external PLL. The CJC8990 operates at supply voltages as low as 1.8V, while the digital core can operate at voltages as low as 1.5V for power savings, with a maximum voltage of 3.3V for all supplies. Different sections of the chip can also be powered down under software control. The CJC8990 is housed in a very compact and slim 4×4mm COL package, making it ideal for handheld and portable systems.
