The FLD10005 is a linear regulator with exceptional high-voltage capability, integrating the advantages of a thermally enhanced package to withstand continuous DC or transient input voltages up to 100V. The device remains stable with output capacitance greater than 2.2uF and input capacitance greater than 0.47uF. As a result, its miniaturized package and the possibility of using small output capacitors minimizes the required board space. In addition, the FLD10005 provides a standard CMOS logic-compatible enable pin for activating a low-current shutdown mode. The device features internal thermal shutdown and current limiting to protect the system under fault conditions. The junction temperature operating range for SOT23-5, ESOP8, and MSOP8 packages is -40℃ to 125℃. Furthermore, the FLD10005 is ideal for generating low-voltage rails from intermediate voltage rails in telecom and industrial applications; it not only delivers a well-regulated voltage rail, but also maintains regulation during extremely high and fast voltage transients. These characteristics translate into simpler, more cost-effective electrical surge protection circuits for a wide range of applications, including Power over Ethernet, bias supplies, and LED lighting.
