Overview

GBI1630/1631 is a 60V, 3A step-down converter with an integrated 150mΩ high-side MOSFET. The device features a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 60V, making it suitable for various applications powered by unregulated supplies, such as industrial or automotive applications. It employs peak current mode control and supports a wide adjustable switching frequency set by an external resistor. The device draws 100µA quiescent current in sleep mode and 1µA shutdown current, making it well-suited for battery-powered systems. Multiple protection features are integrated, including cycle-by-cycle current limiting, thermal shutdown, output overvoltage protection, and input undervoltage lockout. The device is available in an 8-pin eSOP-8L package. It supports a wide adjustable switching frequency range of 200kHz to 2.5MHz, set via an external resistor. GBI1631 includes a power-good indicator with a pull-up resistor range of 10kΩ to 100kΩ, which can be pulled up to a logic high level or an external DC voltage. GBI1630 supports an adjustable soft-start time by connecting an external capacitor from the SS pin to ground. GBI1631 features an internal 4ms soft-start time. The default input startup voltage is 4.1V with 300mV hysteresis. The EN pin is a high-voltage pin with a precision threshold; two external resistors can be used to adjust the input voltage lockout threshold to meet precise high-UVLO system requirements. Floating the EN pin enables the device. Connecting the EN pin directly to VIN allows the device to start automatically. The device also supports monotonic startup under pre-biased output conditions.
