Overview
GP8242X is a high-performance AC/DC power control switch designed for chargers and adapters. The IC employs primary-side feedback and control, achieving 4% CC/CV regulation accuracy without optocouplers or TL431. PFM control is used in constant current operation, while a composite PFM/PWM multi-mode control is applied in constant voltage operation. In addition, GP8242X integrates output cable compensation, which helps reduce switching losses, simplify system EMI design, and optimize output characteristics. GP8242X provides soft-start, audio noise suppression, and multiple protection features, including auto-restart, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, VCC OVP/UVP clamp protection, pin open/short-circuit protection, and gate clamp protection. Available in SOP8 package.
