Overview
GP8521X is a high-performance AC/DC current-mode PWM power switch designed for chargers and adapters. GP8521X features audio noise elimination. The operating frequency is 65kHz with ±4% frequency jittering. As output power decreases, the IC reduces switching frequency based on power-saving mode control to improve light-load efficiency. When power drops below a certain threshold, the IC enters burst mode to reduce standby power consumption, keeping the no-load power dissipation of the entire unit below 75mW. It features seamless OCP/OPP recovery, constant power limiting, and OCP/OPP compensation across the full input voltage range. Multiple protection features are included, such as UVLO, VDD OVP, cycle-by-cycle current limiting OCP, and overload protection OLP. Available in SOP8 package.
