HG1118 is a dual-channel positive voltage output low-dropout three-terminal linear voltage regulator with a dropout voltage of only 1.3V at 800mA output current. HG1118 features two regulated outputs, each of which can be independently configured as either a fixed voltage output version or an adjustable voltage output version. The voltage accuracy of HG1118 fixed output versions at 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5.0V and the adjustable version is 1.5%; the fixed 1.2V output version has a voltage accuracy of 2%. HG1118 integrates internal overtemperature protection and current limiting circuits, suitable for a wide range of electronic products. HG1118 is a dual-channel LDO regulator capable of providing 2 independent regulated outputs; its pass element consists of an NPN transistor driven by a PNP transistor, and the dropout voltage is defined as: VDROP = VBE + VSAT. Each internal regulator of HG1118 is available in both fixed and adjustable versions, with fixed output voltages of: 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V. An on-chip thermal shutdown circuit provides overload and overtemperature protection to prevent excessive junction temperatures caused by ambient temperature conditions. To ensure stability of HG1118, the adjustable voltage version requires a minimum 22μF output capacitor. For fixed voltage versions, a smaller capacitor may be used, determined by the specific application. In general, the stability of a linear regulator decreases as output current increases.
