Overview
The HG25Q80 non-volatile flash memory device supports the standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). It supports the traditional SPI single-bit serial input and output (Single I/O or SIO), as well as optional dual-bit (Dual I/O or DIO) serial protocols. This multi-width interface is referred to as SPI Multi I/O or MIO. The SPI protocol uses only 4 signals: Chip Select (CS#), Serial Clock (CLK), and Serial Data - IO0 (DI). The HG25Q80 supports standard SPI and Dual Output SPI: Serial Clock, Chip Select, Serial Data I/O0 (DI), and O1 (DO). It supports SPI clock frequencies up to 104MHz; when using Fast Read Dual Output, the equivalent clock rate for dual output can reach 208MHz (104MHz × 2). These transfer rates can surpass standard asynchronous 8-bit and 16-bit parallel flash. The HG25Q80 provides an ideal storage solution for systems with limited space, signal connectivity, and power. These memories offer greater flexibility and performance than standard serial flash devices. They are well-suited for code shadowing to RAM, Execute-In-Place (XIP), and data storage.
