Overview

HT6908 is a low forward-voltage-drop diode emulator IC that, when combined with an external switch, replaces a Schottky diode in high-efficiency flyback converters. The device regulates the forward voltage drop of an external synchronous rectification MOSFET to approximately 40mV and turns off when the voltage goes negative. For battery charging applications where the output voltage may be low, the output is in a short-circuit condition, or a high-side synchronous rectification configuration is used, the HT6908 can generate its own supply voltage. Its programmable ringing detection circuit prevents false turn-on of the device due to Vds oscillation during discontinuous conduction mode and quasi-resonant operation.
