Overview
The HT78L05 is a three-terminal positive voltage regulator providing a fixed 5V output, suitable for a wide range of applications. As an alternative to zener diode-resistor combinations, it typically improves effective output impedance by two orders of magnitude while reducing quiescent current. The device is available in plastic TO-92, SOP8e-3, and SOP8 packages. With an adequate heat sink, the regulator can deliver 100mA output current. The built-in current limiting function restricts peak output current to a safe level.
