HX1118 is a dual positive-voltage-output low-dropout three-terminal linear voltage regulator with a dropout voltage of only 1.3V at 800mA output current. The HX1118 provides two regulated outputs, each of which can be independently configured as either a fixed-voltage or adjustable-voltage version. The output voltage accuracy of the HX1118 is 1.5% for fixed output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5.0V and the adjustable version; the output voltage accuracy is 2% for the fixed 1.2V version. The HX1118 integrates internal over-temperature protection and current-limiting circuitry, making it suitable for a wide range of electronic products. The HX1118 is a dual low-dropout voltage regulator capable of providing 2 independent regulated outputs; its pass element consists of an NPN transistor driven by a PNP transistor, and the dropout voltage is defined as: VDROP = VBE + VSAT. Each internal regulator of the HX1118 is available in both fixed and adjustable versions, with fixed output voltages of: 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V. An on-chip thermal shutdown circuit provides overload and over-temperature protection against excessive junction temperatures caused by elevated ambient temperatures. To ensure stability of the HX1118, a capacitor of at least 22μF must be connected at the output for the adjustable voltage version. For the fixed voltage version, a smaller capacitor may be used, as determined by the specific application. In general, the stability of a linear regulator decreases as the output current increases.
