The INA220 is a shunt and power monitor with an I²C- or SMBus-compatible interface. The INA220 monitors shunt voltage drop and supply voltage. A programmable calibration value, combined with an internal multiplier, enables direct reading of current in amperes. An additional multiplication register calculates power in watts. The I²C- or SMBus-compatible interface has 16 programmable addresses. The independent shunt inputs of the INA220 allow its application in systems with low-side sensing capabilities. The INA220 is available in two grades: Grade A and Grade B. The Grade B models offer higher accuracy and more stringent precision specifications. The INA220 can sense the divided voltage in the bus from 0V to 26V, making it suitable for low-side sensing or CPU power supplies. The device is powered by a single 3V to 5.5V supply, with a maximum supply current consumption of 1mA. The INA220 operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It is suitable for general loads, low-side or high-side sensing.
