Overview

IP6525S is a buck system-on-chip integrating a synchronous switching buck converter with multi-protocol fast charging output support, providing a complete solution for car chargers, fast charging adapters, and smart power strips. The chip integrates built-in power MOSFETs, with an input voltage range of 5.2V to 32V, an output voltage range of 3V to 12V, and a maximum output power of 22.5W. It automatically adjusts output voltage and current based on the detected fast charging protocol, with typical outputs of 5V/3.4A, 9V/2.0A, and 12V/1.5A. The device features automatic OCP adjustment, supporting 5V/4.5A and 4.5V/5A output after successful handshake with low-voltage fast charging protocols such as SCP. Output voltage line compensation is supported, whereby increasing output current correspondingly raises the output voltage to compensate for the voltage drop caused by cable impedance. The chip also integrates soft-start functionality to prevent inrush current from affecting input power supply stability. It automatically detects the fast charging protocols supported by the connected device via the DP/DM pins and adjusts the output accordingly. Supported protocols include DCP (Apple and BC1.2), Qualcomm QC2.0/QC3.0, Huawei FCP and SCP, Samsung AFC (up to 12V), MediaTek PE+1.1/PE+2.0, Spreadtrum SFCP, and OPPO VOOC. IP6525S integrates comprehensive protection features, including input OVP/UVP, output OCP/OVP/UVP/SCP, DP/DM OVP, and full-system OTP, with an ESD protection rating of 4KV and an input DC withstand voltage of 40V. The chip is available in an ESOP8 package.
