KP522201A operates in pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode under light load to maintain high light-load efficiency; KP522208A operates in forced pulse width modulation (FPWM) mode to achieve a fixed switching frequency and low output ripple across the full load current range. KP522201A/08A integrates comprehensive protection features, including input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), cycle-by-cycle valley current limiting protection (OCL), output undervoltage hiccup protection (UVP), output overvoltage protection (OVP), and over-temperature protection (OTP), ensuring safe and reliable operation under various operating conditions.
