LKP8283DF is a series of low dropout linear regulators (LDO) operating from a 2.3V~6.5V supply with a maximum output current of 2A. The device employs an advanced proprietary architecture to deliver high PSRR and ultralow noise, achieving excellent voltage and load transient response performance with a single small 4.7μF ceramic output capacitor. LKP8283DF is available in fixed output voltage options and an adjustable version. Startup time can be controlled via the soft-start pin to limit inrush current. Typical startup time with a 1nF soft-start capacitor is 1.0ms. Output noise is 6μV rms (10Hz~100kHz). The 8-pin 3mm×3mm DFN8 package provides an extremely compact solution with excellent thermal performance for applications requiring up to 2A output current, featuring a low-profile footprint and small PCB area. Under normal operating conditions, LKP8283DF uses the EN pin to enable and disable the VOUT output: VOUT turns on when EN is high; VOUT turns off when EN is low. For auto-start operation, connect EN to VIN. The output voltage of the LKP8283DF adjustable version can be set from 1.2V to VIN − VDO by connecting resistor R1 from the SENSE pin to VOUT and resistor R2 to GND. For fixed versions, the SENSE pin is connected directly to VOUT. PCB layout should use short trace lengths, with input and output capacitors placed as close as possible to the device pins. The exposed thermal pad on the bottom of the IC must be connected to the PCB ground plane. Output capacitor ESR affects stability, particularly for small capacitors. A minimum output capacitance of 4.7μF with ESR of 0.05Ω or lower is recommended to prevent oscillation.
