Overview

The LM317-TD is an adjustable 3-terminal positive voltage regulator capable of supplying more than 1.5A over an output voltage range of 1.25V to 37V. The device features very low quiescent current with a typical value of 1.5mA. The LM317-TD is available in multiple packages, including SOT89-3, TO220, and SOT223. It requires only two external resistors to set the output voltage, with a typical line regulation of 1mV and a typical load regulation of 7mV. The device is highly versatile and suitable for programmable output regulation and on-board local regulation. By connecting a fixed resistor between the ADJUST and OUTPUT pins, it can also be used as a precision current regulator. An output capacitor may optionally be added to improve transient response.
