Overview

The LM317 is a monolithic three-terminal adjustable voltage regulator IC, usable as a positive supply voltage regulator. It is designed to deliver load currents exceeding 1.5A, with an adjustable output voltage ranging from 1.2V to 37V. The output voltage can be set via a resistive voltage divider formed by two external resistors, making it highly convenient to use. Furthermore, its line regulation and load regulation performance surpasses that of most fixed-voltage regulator counterparts.
