The LMR14030-Q1 device is a 40V, 3.5A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET). The device features a wide input voltage range of 4V to 40V and is suitable for regulating unregulated power supplies in various applications, from industrial to automotive. Its extended product family offers 2A and 5A current options in pin-to-pin compatible packages. The regulator has a quiescent current of 40μA in sleep mode, making it ideal for battery-powered systems. It also has an ultra-low current of 1μA in shutdown mode, which can further extend battery life. The regulator has a wide adjustable switching frequency range, allowing for optimization of efficiency or external component size. Internal loop compensation means that users do not have to undertake the tedious task of designing loop compensation components and can minimize the number of external components of the device. The precision enable input simplifies regulator control and system power sequencing. In addition, the device also incorporates various protection features: cycle-by-cycle current limit protection, thermal sensing and thermal shutdown protection for excessive power dissipation, and output overvoltage protection. The LMR14030-Q1 is available in an 8-pin HSOIC or 10-pin WSON package with an exposed pad for low thermal resistance.
