MCP61S

The MCP61 series is a new-generation capacitive sensing microprocessor SOC chip, integrating dual-channel capacitive analog front-end sensing circuits that connect directly to differential capacitive plates near the target under measurement. It measures minute capacitance changes through resonant excitation and signal processing. The excitation frequency is configurable from 0.1 to 20 MHz, with a 16-bit digital frequency measurement output and a maximum capacitance sensing resolution of 1 fF. To address capacitive sensing applications across industries, the SOC integrates an Arm Cortex-M0 core microprocessor capable of running various embedded sensing algorithms, converting raw oscillation frequency values into capacitance and specific physical quantities such as liquid level, moisture content, and displacement. The analog front-end also integrates a temperature sensing circuit for temperature-compensated sensing applications. Built-in 16 KB Flash and 2 KB SRAM allow developers to write application software and store sensing calibration and application data. The chip also integrates hardware resources including ADC, advanced timers, general-purpose timers, and basic timers, along with USART, SPI, and I2C interfaces.
