Overview
The MS1651 is a single-channel video buffer integrating a rail-to-rail output driver with 6dB gain and a 6th-order output reconstruction filter. It features a -3dB bandwidth of 10.5MHz and a slew rate of 40V/μs, delivering superior image quality compared to passive LC filter solutions with external drivers. Operating from a single supply ranging from +2.5V to +5.5V with an extremely low quiescent current of 14.5mA, it is ideally suited for battery-powered applications. The input signal is the DAC output, supporting either DC-coupled or AC-coupled input. Internal diode clamping and biasing circuits are available for AC-coupled input configurations. An internal level-shifting circuit prevents sync pulse clipping and allows DC-coupled output. The output can drive DC- or AC-coupled single (150Ω) or dual (75Ω) loads. Housed in a SOT23-6 6-pin package with 8kV ESD protection. The MS1651 operates from a single supply of +2.5V to +5V, serving as a complete filter and buffer solution for standard-definition video signal decoding and encoding. Compared to conventional discrete-component designs, this solution reduces PCB area, lowers cost, and improves video signal performance. It integrates a DC-coupled input buffer, a video encoder that eliminates out-of-band noise, and an op-amp driver with +6dB gain capable of driving 75Ω loads. The AC- or DC-coupled input buffer eliminates sync compression, bowing, and field tilt. The output can also be DC-coupled or AC-coupled.
