RS2599A is an integrated power switch for self-powered and bus-powered USB applications. The device is a cost-effective, low-voltage single P-channel MOSFET load switch with 50mΩ on-resistance and no parasitic body diode, which eliminates any reverse current through the switch when power is off. When the output voltage exceeds the input voltage, the power switch turns off via an internal output reverse voltage protection feature. Multiple protection functions, including current limiting and thermal shutdown, prevent catastrophic switch failure when increased power dissipation results from sustained heavy load or short-circuit conditions. FLAG is an open-drain output that reports overcurrent or over-temperature events, with a typical debounce timeout period of approximately 13ms. The RS2599A is available in a green DFN3X3-8 package and is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
