Overview

SDH8666Q is a quasi-resonant current-mode PWM+PFM controller for switching power supplies, featuring high-voltage startup, an integrated high-voltage power MOSFET, and an external sampling resistor. The SDH8666Q integrates a high-voltage startup constant-current source to enable high-voltage startup. Standby power consumption is low, less than 40mW. It supports multi-mode control: under heavy load, it operates in QR mode at high input voltage to reduce switching losses, and in CCM mode at fixed frequency (65KHz) at low input voltage. Under medium and light load, it operates in QR+PFM mode to improve conversion efficiency. Under no-load conditions, it enters hiccup mode to effectively reduce standby power consumption. The SDH8666Q features frequency dithering to reduce EMI, peak current compensation to maintain consistent maximum output power across different AC input voltages, and soft-start functionality to reduce device stress during power-up. The SDH8666Q integrates comprehensive protection functions for various fault conditions, including VCC overvoltage protection, output overload protection, output overvoltage protection, leading-edge blanking, cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting, output diode short-circuit protection, AC input undervoltage protection, and over-temperature protection.
