Overview
The 74HC/HCT373 is an 8-bit D-type latch with three-state outputs. The device features a latch enable (LE) and an output enable (OE) input. When LE is HIGH, data at the inputs enters the latches; the latches are transparent and the outputs change with their corresponding D inputs. When LE is LOW, the latches store the input information that was present one setup time prior to the falling edge of LE. When OE is HIGH, the outputs are in a high-impedance state. The OE operation does not affect the internal state of the latches. Input clamping diodes are provided, enabling the use of current-limiting resistors to interface inputs to voltages exceeding VCC.
