Overview

The SN74HC/HCT374 is an 8-bit rising-edge-triggered D-type flip-flop with 3-state outputs. The device features a clock (CP) and output enable (OE) input. The flip-flops store the state of their individual D inputs that meet the setup and hold time requirements. A high level on OE forces the outputs into a high-impedance state. Changes on OE do not affect the state of the flip-flops. Input clamping diodes are provided. This enables the use of current-limiting resistors to interface inputs to voltages exceeding VCC. The SN74HCT374 features reduced input threshold levels to allow direct interface with TTL logic levels.
