Overview

The TPD3S0x4 integrated device is equipped with a current-limiting load switch and a dual-channel Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS)-based Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection diode array, which is suitable for USB interfaces. The TPD3S0x4 device is suitable for applications where large capacitive loads and short circuits may occur (such as USB interfaces). The TPD3S0x4 can provide short-circuit protection and overcurrent protection. When the output load exceeds the current limit threshold, the TPD3S0x4 can limit the output current to a safe level by operating in the constant current mode. The fast overload response characteristic helps to relieve the burden on the 5V main power supply and can quickly regulate the power supply when the output is short-circuited. At this time, the rise and fall of the current-limiting switch are controlled to minimize the inrush current during the device switching process. The continuous currents of the TPD3S014 and TPD3S044 are 0.5A and 1.5A respectively. The rated ESD shock dissipation value of the TVS diode array is higher than the highest level specified in the IEC 61000 - 4 - 2 international standard. This highly integrated device uses an easy-to-route DBV package and can provide strong circuit protection for USB interfaces in applications such as portable computers, high-definition digital TVs, and set-top boxes.
