The TPL8031Q series supports an operating voltage range of 3V to 42V (maximum transient voltage 45V). The 3V minimum operating voltage enables continuous reliable operation under cold-start and stop-start conditions. This series is a low quiescent current, low dropout linear regulator with a maximum output current capability of 300mA. These features make the series an ideal solution for powering always-on applications in automotive systems — such as microcontrollers and CAN/LIN transceiver supplies — as well as battery-connected applications. The TPL8031Q series offers fixed 5V and 3.3V output voltage options, supports a wide output capacitance range of 1μF to 200μF, and accommodates ESR values from 0.001Ω to 10Ω. In addition, the series integrates overcurrent protection and thermal protection. The TPL8031Q series operates over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is available in enhanced thermal dissipation packages — DFN3X3-8, EMSOP8, and SOT223-3 — to ensure continuous operation under conditions of significant power dissipation.
