The TPS25200 is a 5V electronic fuse with high-precision current limiting and overvoltage clamping. This device can provide reliable protection for the load and power supply during overvoltage and overcurrent events. The TPS25200 is an intelligent switch for protecting the load and can withstand an input voltage of 20V. If an incorrect voltage is applied to the input terminal, the output terminal can limit the voltage to 5.4V to protect the load. If the voltage at the input terminal exceeds 7.6V, the device will disconnect the load to prevent damage to the device and/or the load. The TPS25200 has an internal power switch with a resistance of 60mΩ, which can be used to protect the power supply, device, and load under various abnormal conditions. This device provides a continuous load current of up to 2.5A. The current limit value can be set in the range of 85mA to 2.9A through a resistor connected to the ground. When an overload occurs, the output current is limited to the current value set by RILM. If a continuous overload occurs, the TPS25200 will eventually enter the thermal shutdown mode to avoid self-damage. The TPS25200 is an intelligent low voltage switch or e-Fuse with robust overcurrent and overvoltage protection which are suitable for a variety of applications. The TPS25200 current limited power switch uses N-channel MOSFETs in applications requiring up to 2.5 A of continuous load current. The device allows the user to program the current-limit threshold between 85 mA and 2.9 A (typical) via an external resistor. The device enters constant-current mode when the load exceeds the current-limit threshold. The TPS25200 Input can withstand 20-V DC voltage, but clamps VOUT to a precision regulated 5.4 V and shuts down in the event VIN exceeds 7.6 V.
