The TPS54560B-Q1 is a 60V, 5A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. According to the ISO 7637 standard, this device can withstand load dump pulses up to 65V. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low-ripple pulse skip mode reduces the supply current at no load to 146μA. When the enable pin is pulled low, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 2μA. The undervoltage lockout is internally set at 4.3V but can be increased using the enable pin. The output voltage ramp-up is internally controlled to provide a controlled start-up and eliminate overshoot. The wide switching frequency range enables optimization of efficiency or external component size. The output current is cycle-by-cycle current limited. Frequency foldback and thermal shutdown protect internal and external components under overload conditions. The TPS54560B-Q1 is available in an 8-pin thermally enhanced HSOP PowerPAD package.
