The TPS6216x family of devices are easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converters optimized for high power density applications. The typical 2.25 MHz high switching frequency allows the use of small inductors and provides fast transient response and high output voltage accuracy by utilizing the DCS-Control topology. The device features a wide operating input voltage range of 3 V to 17 V, making it ideal for systems powered by Li-ion or other batteries as well as systems powered from 12 V intermediate power rails. It supports up to 1 A continuous output current at output voltages from 0.9 V to 6 V, including 100% duty cycle mode. Power sequencing can also be achieved by configuring the enable and open-drain power-good pins. In power save mode, the quiescent current drawn from VIN is approximately 17 μA. If the load is light, the device automatically and seamlessly enters power save mode, maintaining high efficiency across the entire load range. In shutdown mode, the device turns off with a shutdown current consumption of less than 2 μA. The device is available in adjustable and fixed output voltage versions, offered in an 8-pin WSON package measuring 2.00 mm x 2.00 mm (DSG) or an 8-pin VSSOP package measuring 3.00 mm x 3.00 mm (DGK).
