XL4015E1

The XL4015E1 is a 180kHz fixed-frequency PWM step-down (buck) DC-DC regulator IC featuring an integrated internal power MOSFET. It is capable of driving up to 5A of output current with high efficiency of up to 96%. The output voltage is externally adjustable from 1.25V to 32V using a feedback resistor divider referenced to the IC's 1.25V feedback voltage.

The regulator operates from an 8V to 36V DC input voltage and uses a fixed 180kHz switching frequency, allowing the use of relatively compact external inductors and capacitors. The device also supports a TTL shutdown function using external components. When the TTL control input is above 3.3V (and below 7V), the converter shuts down; when it is below 0.8V, normal operation resumes.

The XL4015E1 is housed in a 5-lead TO263-5L surface-mount package. The package includes a metal back tab internally connected to the SW (switch) node. Pin assignments are Pin 1: GND, Pin 2: FB, Pin 3: SW, Pin 4: VC, and Pin 5: VIN. According to the package drawing, the package has a nominal E dimension of 10.16 mm, a nominal D1 dimension of 8.70 mm, and a 1.70 mm reference lead pitch.

The XL4015E1 is supplied in the TO-263-5L surface-mount package and is compliant with RoHS & HF (Halogen-Free) requirements. Standard factory packaging is tape and reel, with 800 units per reel.

The XL4015E1 incorporates current limit protection, thermal shutdown, and output short-circuit protection. During output short-circuit protection, the operating frequency is reduced from 180kHz to 48kHz. The device supports an operating junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and an absolute maximum lead soldering temperature of 260°C (10 seconds).
