Overview
The 74HC595D is a high-speed silicon gate CMOS device with pin compatibility with low-power Schottky TTL. The device incorporates an 8-bit shift register and an 8-bit D-type latch with 3-state parallel outputs. The shift register accepts serial data and provides serial or parallel outputs, while simultaneously supplying parallel data to the 8-bit latch. The shift register and latch have separate clock inputs. The device also includes an asynchronous reset for the shift register.
