The 74LVC4245 is an 8-bit dual-supply bus transceiver with 3-state bus-compatible outputs in both transmit and receive directions. The device is designed to interface between 3V and 5V buses in mixed 3V/5V supply environments. It features an output enable input OE (active LOW) and a transmit/receive input for direction control. When OE (active LOW) is HIGH, the outputs are driven to a high-impedance state, effectively isolating the bus. In power-down mode, when either supply voltage is zero, there is no current path between the supplies. Except in power-down mode, V_CCA ≥ V_CCB. Schmitt-trigger action on all inputs allows the circuit to tolerate slower input rise and fall times.
