Overview

ADS1294, ADS1296, ADS1298 (ADS129x) and ADS1294R, ADS1296R, ADS1298R (ADS129xR) are multichannel, simultaneously sampling, 24-bit Δ-Σ ADC families with integrated PGA, internal reference, and onboard oscillator. The ADS129x and ADS129xR incorporate all features commonly required in medical ECG and EEG applications. With high integration and exceptional performance, the ADS129x and ADS129xR enable scalable medical instrumentation systems with significantly reduced size, power consumption, and overall cost. Each channel of the ADS129x and ADS129xR features a flexible input mux that can be independently connected to internally generated signals for test, temperature, and lead-off detection. In addition, any configuration of input channels can be selected to generate the right leg drive (RLD) output signal. The ADS129x and ADS129xR operate at data rates up to 32kSPS, enabling software-based pace detection. Lead-off detection can be implemented on-chip via pull-up/pull-down resistors or excitation current sinks/sources. Three integrated amplifiers generate the Wilson Central Terminal (WCT) and Goldberger Central Terminal (GCT) required for standard 12-lead ECG. The ADS129xR version includes fully integrated respiration impedance measurement. Multiple ADS129x and ADS129xR devices can be daisy-chained in high channel count systems. Package options include a compact 8mm×8mm, 64-ball BGA and TQFP-64. The ADS129x BGA version is commercial-grade rated from 0°C to 70°C. The ADS129xR BGA and ADS129x TQFP versions are industrial-grade rated from -40°C to +85°C.
