CA-IS1044S

The CA-IS1044S is a galvanically isolated Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver with outstanding isolation and CAN performance for industrial applications. The device's logic input and output buffers are separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier to provide galvanic isolation. Isolation improves communication by breaking ground loops and reduces noise where large ground potential differences exist between ports. The CA-IS1044S comes in a compact 8-pin SOIC package with galvanic isolation rated up to 3750VRMS (60 seconds). These transceivers support data rates up to 2Mbps and feature integrated protection for reliable communication, including current limiting, thermal shutdown, and extended ±58V fault protection on the CAN bus for devices requiring overvoltage protection. Dominant timeout detection prevents bus lockup caused by controller errors or TXD input faults. These CAN receivers also feature a ±30V input common-mode range (CMR), exceeding the -2V to +7V range specified by ISO 11898. All devices operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The CA-IS1044S is available in a standard 8-pin narrow-body SOIC package with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
