Overview
The DRV8837 provides an integrated motor driver solution for cameras, consumer products, toys, and other low-voltage or battery-powered motion control applications. The device can drive one DC motor or other devices such as solenoids. The output driver block consists of N-channel power MOSFETs configured as an H-bridge for driving motor windings. An integrated charge pump generates the required gate drive voltage. The DRV8837 can deliver up to 1.8A of output current. Its motor supply voltage input range is 0 to 12V, and the logic supply voltage input range is 1.8V to 7.0V. The device features a PWM input interface compatible with industry-standard devices. The DRV8837 has an ultra-low power standby mode with a standby current of 120nA. It incorporates internal shutdown functions including overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and overtemperature protection. The chip comes in a compact DFN2X2-8 package with an exposed thermal pad for effective heat dissipation.
