Overview
DRV8870DDAR is used for PWM speed control to drive DC motors, integrating an H-bridge driver and control circuitry. It features a peak output current of 3.5 A, continuous output current up to 2.5 A, and a maximum operating voltage of 38 V. PWM control signals applied to inputs IN1 and IN2 enable control of DC motor speed and direction. The internal synchronous rectification circuit reduces power dissipation during PWM control. DRV8870DDAR offers an ultra-low power sleep mode. The device integrates overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, undervoltage protection, and overtemperature protection. Drive current can be limited via an external resistor. The device comes in an ESOP-8 package with an exposed thermal pad for effective heat dissipation.
