DW01-A/J

The DW01-A series is a high-precision overcharge and overdischarge protection circuit for single-cell rechargeable lithium batteries, integrating overcharge protection, overdischarge protection, and overcurrent discharge protection in a single device. Under normal operating conditions, the VDD pin voltage of the DW01-A remains between the overcharge protection threshold (VOC) and the overdischarge protection threshold (VOD), while the VM sense pin voltage remains between the charger detection voltage (VCHG) and the overcurrent discharge protection threshold (VEDI). In this state, both the COUT and DOUT pins output a high level, turning on the external charge control N-MOSFET Q1 and discharge control N-MOSFET Q2, respectively. This allows the battery to be charged via a charger or discharged through a load. The DW01-A provides overcharge/overdischarge protection by monitoring the voltage at the VDD or VM pin (relative to the VSS pin). When a charge/discharge protection condition is triggered, COUT/DOUT transitions from high to low, switching Q1/Q2 from on to off and thereby halting the charge/discharge process. The DW01-A incorporates corresponding recovery conditions for each protection state. Once a recovery condition is met, COUT/DOUT transitions from low to high, switching Q1/Q2 from off to on and returning the circuit to normal operation. A defined delay time is associated with each protection/recovery condition — the corresponding protection or recovery action is only executed after the condition persists for the full delay period. If the protection/recovery condition clears before the delay time elapses, the device will not enter the protection/recovery state. The DW01-A is a high-precision lithium battery protection circuit. Under normal operation, if the battery is being charged, the DW01-A may enter the overcharge protection state; once the appropriate recovery conditions are met, it will return to normal operation. If the battery is being discharged, it may enter either the overdischarge protection state or the overcurrent discharge protection state; similarly, once the appropriate recovery conditions are met, normal operation is restored.
