TC4056A.

TC4056A is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charge management IC with battery positive/negative polarity reversal protection, capable of withstanding positive and negative pulse surges. Charging is controlled by a constant current/constant voltage linear topology. Its ESOP8 package and minimal external component count make the TC4056A an ideal choice for portable applications. The TC4056A is suitable for operation with both USB power sources and adapter power supplies. By adopting an internal PMOSFET architecture combined with an anti-backflow circuit, no external sense resistors or isolation diodes are required. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or elevated ambient temperature conditions. The full-charge voltage is fixed at 4.25V, while the charge current can be externally set via a single resistor. When the battery reaches 4.25V, the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value and the TC4056A automatically terminates charging. When the charger power source is disconnected, the TC4056A automatically enters a low-current state with battery leakage current below 2uA. Additional features of the TC4056A include a charge current monitor, under-voltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins for indicating end-of-charge and input voltage connection.
