The FAN3226-29 series dual-channel 2A gate drivers are designed to drive N-channel enhancement MOSFETs in low-side switching applications by delivering high peak current pulses during short switching intervals. The drivers offer TTL or CMOS input thresholds. Internal circuitry holds the outputs low until the supply voltage enters the operating range, providing UVLO functionality. In addition, these drivers provide matched internal propagation delays between channels A and B, making them suitable for dual gate drive applications requiring precise timing, such as synchronous rectifiers. This allows two drivers to be connected in parallel, effectively doubling the current drive capability for a single MOSFET. The FAN322X drivers incorporate the MillerDrive architecture in the final output stage. This bipolar-MOSFET combination delivers high current during the Miller plateau region of the MOSFET turn-on/turn-off transition, minimizing switching losses while providing rail-to-rail voltage swing and sink current capability. The FAN3226 features two inverting drivers, while the FAN3227 features two non-inverting drivers. Each device has dual independent enable pins that default to "on" if left unconnected. In the FAN3228 and FAN3229, each channel has dual inputs with opposite polarity, allowing configuration as either non-inverting or inverting through an optional enable function using the second input. If one or both inputs are left unconnected, internal resistors bias the inputs to pull the outputs low, keeping the power MOSFETs off.
