Overview
GB491 is a 3.3V/5V full-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver IC with one integrated driver and one receiver. The bus features fault protection — when the receiver input is open or shorted, the output defaults to a logic high. The device supports error-free data transmission at 10Mbps, with a receiver input impedance of 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on the bus for full-duplex communication. All driver outputs and receiver inputs are protected against ±15kV ESD (Human Body Model). The device is available in a 14-pin SO package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
