Overview
GC8549 is a dual-channel 12V DC motor driver IC, providing an integrated motor drive solution for cameras, consumer products, toys, and other low-voltage or battery-powered motion control applications. The device is typically used to drive two DC motors or one stepper motor. The GC8549 operates from a supply voltage of 3.8~12V, delivering up to 1.5A continuous output current per channel or 3A peak current. It features a sleep mode with quiescent current as low as 20μA. The GC8549 offers a PWM (IN/EN) input interface compatible with industry-standard devices, and provides over-temperature protection, under-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, and over-current protection. The GC8549 integrates an LDO, eliminating the need for a separate logic supply, with inputs compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels.
