Overview
GH295 is a driver IC for 12V and 24V dual-coil DC motor fans. The chip integrates a Hall sensor, two output driver circuits, and a frequency generation output circuit, with built-in over-temperature protection, locked-rotor protection, and auto-recovery startup circuitry. When the chip detects that the motor fan has stopped for 0.5 seconds, it automatically shuts off both outputs for 4.0 seconds, then restarts the circuit to check whether the motor fan is spinning. If rotation resumes, the chip returns to normal operation; otherwise, if the motor fan does not rotate within 0.5 seconds, the chip shuts off again for 4.0 seconds. This cycle repeats until the motor fan operates normally. This feature effectively prevents coil damage caused by overheating due to locked-rotor conditions. The GH295 supports a maximum startup current of 900mA and a maximum continuous output current of 500mA, available in a through-hole SIP-4L (TO-94) package.
