GM3491E

The GM3485E series devices (including GM3488E, GM3490E, and GM3491E) are low-power RS-422 transceiver with ±15kV ESD protection, operating over a supply voltage range of +3.0V to 5.5V. Each device contains one driver and one receiver. The GM3488E features a slew-rate-limited driver that minimizes EMI and reduces signal reflections caused by improper cable termination, enabling error-free data transmission at data rates up to 1Mbps. The GM3490E and GM3491E support data rates up to 12Mbps. All devices feature enhanced ESD protection. All transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected against ±15kV IEC 1000-4-2 air-gap discharge, ±8kV contact discharge, and ±15kV Human Body Model. The driver incorporates short-circuit current limiting and is protected by a thermal shutdown circuit that places the driver outputs in a high-impedance state to prevent excessive power dissipation. The receiver inputs feature a failsafe function that guarantees a logic-high output when both inputs are open. The GM3488E, GM3490E, and GM3491E support full-duplex communication.
